CYNTHIA TRUE is a journalist, author, and writer-producer whose work spans documentary, television, and long-form narrative. She’s the writer, co-host, and co-producer Blow-Up: When Liz Tilberis Transformed Bazaar, a 2025 Webby Honoree and Signal Award-winning documentary podcast. Her television credits include co-creating and executive-producing Nickelodeon’s The Mighty B!, which ran for two seasons and is currently streaming on Paramount+. Cynthia is the author of American Scream: The Bill Hicks Story (HarperCollins; MacMillan UK, 2002 / 2012), which has sold more than 700,000 copies worldwide. She began her career as a reporter and editor, writing for Rolling Stone, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, Interview, Paper, Time Out New York, and Texas Monthly.
